Pros

30% employee discount on clearance and regular price merchandise, decent number of hours available, clean store, fairly good management - with the exception of just one manager who can be slightly off putting

Cons

The biggest con is probably that there is no room for growth, they don't hire their own cashiers later on to be managers (unless maybe you leave the company to be a manager elsewhere and then return with experience). They also do not have benefits for PT employees and you do not receive an incentive for signing people up for rewards.

Pros

DSW was an exciting place to work. For the most part, people in each department shared a common vision. Hard work is expected as with most places, but they do appreciate a work/life balance. The pay was okay and most managment was appraochable.

Cons

Career growth really depended on your department. If you work in buying, marketing or IT you will have opportunites to advance. Other departments like store ops or HR you didnt see alot of movement.
