Never Again

Pros

The benefits are great and so is the discount. 30% off all regular priced merchandise AND clearance. High volume store so there is always a ton of traffic and always something to do.

Cons

Upper Managment is completely incompetant and very rude to associates. Customers can be brutal, always trying to return shoes that have clearly been worn. There is no point in having any type of guidlines to returns because corporate will always tell you to do whatever will make the customers happy.

Pros

Good wages and benefits for managers. Good products with few customer complaints. Liberal return policy to help provide good customer service. Beautifully designed new stores with lots of inventory.

Cons

Corporate representative visits to the stores are a terror. All managers within each region communicate furiously trying to assist each other in preparing for each corporate visit. Corporate personnel have a degrading and demoralizing effect on you and your assistants. Corporate representatives often say "Treat it as if it were your own store", but of course you cannot implement any strategy of your own without facing extreme criticism. Corporate expectations regarding labor hours per task are completely without reason. There is no operations manual, and policies change constantly.

The company has been going through a difficult transition in business model over the past several years. This has made for an unusually high degree of turnover in all areas.
