As I look back on my entire professional career, I can say without a doubt that working at Duty First Consulting put myself into one of the most toxic, unrewarding, and downright awful experiences. I think that some high school summer jobs have a better culture than DFC was able to cultivate. The management at this company have made a serious culture of cliques, wielding power, fear, and unprofessionalism that reminds you of an office cooked up for a movie--or a toxic sorority--rather than an actual workplace. I want to say that the benefits make up for it, but relative to other firms and even government the perks and compensation are nothing to write home about. There is limited opportunity for growth, so MAs and SMAs are generally just used as exhaustible tools for a couple years before they move on to a better job.
