      Pros

      Used to be a good place to make money if you don’t mind working late hours and all weekends

      Cons

      This company will make you work hours and not pay you for them. Come in early and stay late without any real opportunity to make money. The benefits are a joke and the new management is horrible with people skills. Literally the don’t have an hr dept because a lot of the stuff they ask is not legal and if it is it skirts the line.

      We appreciate your review. Our company has changed and I feel for the better. We have nearly tripled in size in the last 10+ years and now carry more products that customers want today. Our benefits have adapted to the times. For hours that are worked without pay, I am unaware of asking people to come in unpaid. Unless you were improperly filling out your timesheets, all time worked is eligible for compensation. In addition, we do have an HR and legal department and ensure that anything we ask of our employees is legal and well within professional guidelines. Please don't project your personal actions onto what the company expects of it's employees. Also, when stating the numbers of turnover, please attempt to know the facts, which are that our turnover is well below industry standard and continues to be. We are a great place to start your career and learn how to manage and sell. For some, this leads this a great career with us, and for others, a great starting point for their next step. We thought that's what we had done for you, but you obviously felt differently. If you would like to express your opinions clearly to me, please reach out to me at 303-566-8172.       Pros

      The store I originally started in was great. From what I hear, most of the stores in the company are also great. I planned on retiring from Denver Mattress. The store manager and warehouse guy in the Madison should be hailed for their time in that store. They work harder than anyone in the company, and are helpful and positive as can be. I honestly enjoyed working with the people, unfortunately just not at that store.

      Cons

      The showroom is huge. More beds than any other store in the company with several flights of stairs and no stock picker. With models constantly changing, and trucks being unloaded, this job is more like factory work, only in dress clothes. You will sweat. Clothes will get ruined, often. The company figured out the pay scale for warehouse work in this market was being under paid and fixed it. Sadly, they haven't figured out that the other positions aren't compensated competitively. It's expensive to live here compared to the majority of other markets we are in. The mold isn't the same. Everyone that comes here takes a massive pay cut. Recognize it and stop blaming us.

      We appreciate your review and recognize that there have been challenges in certain markets which we are working to address. My only wish is that you had communicated with our upper management team your concerns when you had the opportunity rather than just quitting and not allowing us the chance to address these issues. I wish you the best of luck in the future and hope you feel more likely to speak with your future employers when there are problems. I am sure you will not find many more that are as willing to listen as we are.

      Odd company culture

      Pros

      You get a three day weekend every other week. This is nice because you can work 12 hour days for five days straight " commission only".

      Cons

      The management is very concerned with interpersonal drama and reviews. Hence the 4.3 star glass door rating. They asked all the management to post a positive review. Micro managing, word for word coaching, inappropriate interview. They asked me nothing that pertained to sales job skills and everything about my personal life from birth to current. Highly illegal questions. Run!

      We appreciate your review, but I do have a few points to clarify. As with all companies that use Glassdoor, we asked employees for any review, not just good. I was the one that asked, so please get your facts straight. We are focused on our people and don't look for people that are only focused on sales. We look for people with character and integrity and thus our management does look into these "interpersonal drama" issues when problems come up. None of the questions we ask are illegal as per the application you signed (and sounds like you didn't read) where we state we are getting to know you, not just your sales background. In terms of being caught up in reviews - It is 2018 and reviews are every where. Good luck in your career search.
