Pros

Smart coworkers, meaningful work, and remote work

Cons

Like other reviews have mentioned - toxic culture, nepotism, and horrible work life balance are some of the many terrible things you will experience here. People will give you a ticket, then intentionally not sharing the most important piece of information to complete the project. It is only reasonable to scope the ticket and ask questions, then they will give you a hard time. This is only one example, it could get much, much worse. Trust me - it is not worth it. Take care of yourself and leave a toxic work environment is one of the best things you can do to help yourself.

Hi there – Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we appreciate it. I'm glad to hear you enjoy working with your colleagues and find your work here meaningful. I’m sorry to hear your experience at Devoted has been less than optimal. Focusing specifically on ticket driven processes, we prioritize both accurate resolutions and team accountability, instead of individualized metrics. Only the team totals and ticket drivers are presented to encourage quality over quantity. Group dashboards and monthly aged ticket collaboration were built to avoid issues like the ones mentioned and ultimately, prevent work from stalling because of information sharing. We are always looking to improve and we take our culture and approach to work/life balance very seriously. We take strides to ensure our employees are heard so I’d like to learn more about your perspective. If you’d like to continue the conversation, feel free to reach David Gallant, Head of Enterprise Support and Technology at dgallant@devoted.com.

Pros

Remote work, that's really it.

Cons

Maybe it's better for salaried employees, but Devoted does not care about its guides who are overworked and underpaid. Not only do they have to deal with unruly members, but they also have to deal with leadership that's devoid of empathy. Late from break for 2 mins? They'll make note of it and you'll get in trouble. Need to use the bathroom? Not allowed to unless you're on break. I know quite a few people who had to resort to relieving themselves in bottles because they were stuck on extremely long calls and could not use the bathroom. They'll find ways to excuse this treatment, but there's absolutely no excuse for treating your employees this way. Your life will be consumed by this company, as there is absolutely 0 flexibility or regard for your wellbeing. They'll say they offer mental health benefits, but you have no time to utilize them because by the time your shift is over, you're exhausted and no one is even available.

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective and experience with us. We take our internal culture and approach to work/life balance very seriously and take strides to ensure our employees are heard, respected, and trusted. We're very sorry to hear that your experience with our attendance policy and work/life has been less than optimal. We have set the bar exceptionally high to hit our service level metrics to ensure we are providing superior service to our members as it is our core mission to do so. As a result, the rigidity of time back to the phones is necessary as we are highly regulated. All Guides are scheduled for a total of 30 minutes of paid break time throughout the day. They may use that time in scheduled full 15 minute blocks or break them up to allow for more frequent breaks. If a Guide needs to take a break from a phone call for any emergency situation, we would encourage them to either place the caller on hold or get them connected to another employee to assist. If a Guide needs to take a break or recover from a difficult call we do have Standard Operating Procedures in place that provide several (3) different ways they can do this. These operating procedures have been developed as a result of feedback from the team. We are always striving to improve and create a work environment that is caring and flexible however possible. We do offer Mental Health Benefits that you've highlighted and they are explained during our orientation. More specifically, we know there are times where working hours may not overlap directly and provide contact info to coordinate appointments around this should our employees need to use the benefit. Our team works hard to ensure our employees are heard and respected and we recognize that each of us have different experiences and perceptions. We welcome the opportunity to learn more about your points of view and experiences on the Member Service Guide team. If you’d like to continue the conversation, please reach out to Michelle Mulcahy -- Director, Member Service Guide @ mmulcahy@devoted.com.
