Pros

Dexis is great in organizing Happy Hours, and parties. Unlimited booze!

Cons

The personnel of contracts department does not have much knowledge in federal regulations and find themselves noncompliance. They're the first one who violate the regulations. Apparently, they do not have a basic concept of "conflict of interest", two friends from the previous employer were hired, and the personnel who was at Dexis before were pushed out. The Contracts Department does not adhere to the Federal Acquisition Regulation due to the lack of knowledge and experience. Recently two individuals were hired that have never worked with contracts. Whenever, there're a real need in real expertise, the consultant is hired. Another significant problem is that the same regulations are interpreted and applied differently depending on the seniority of the staff.

I appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback. As you know by having worked here, the management team takes feedback seriously. We cannot delete reviews even if we disagree. You are also familiar with the multiple internal feedback channels (anonymous staff engagement survey, project pulse survey, etc.) and a feedback loop process – I report operating unit performance in our quarterly town halls. You have possibly been part of the usual government and corporate audits -- so there is also that quality layer. I checked against your review and the data we have from staff and clients show finance, accounting, and contracts team are delivering on time and at the standards demanded. Our audits have never alleged misrepresentations or improper controls -- ever. Yes, there is a strong referral network at Dexis. It should be. Literature shows that staff-referred new hires tend to be better performers and stay with their organizations longer. But decisions are made through scoring criteria, so there is no chance of “friends and family” if you do not meet the bar. I have asked that leadership treat your comments with an open mind - reviewing them for facts versus allegations, and what it can do to address perceptions even if these may not always match reality. Thanks again, really.

Pros

Growing org with the best of intentions. Actively seeking to go to the next level in the world of government contractors, but slow to beef up its corporate capacity in conjunction with that growth.

Cons

Growing too fast. Can't keep up with itself. Again, watch out for poor Chief of Party (who the org allowed to underperform and bring down the morale of the team for way too long). A bit CEO-centric.

Pros

Dexis is a great place to work. The people here, work hard and play hard. The diversity in the company is the biggest win win for an organization to bring people together with the same desire to help others nationally and internationally. A background in International studies is desired here at Dexis. I have met some of the most intelligent, energetic and enthusiastic people by working for Dexis. The drive to succeed is contagious here at Dexis. I would recommend Dexis to the elite. You must have a positive attitude and be able to be flexible and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done and perform at the highest level of morality and possess a particular system of values and principles of conduct.

Cons

Compensation is not to my standard, based on education and work experience for the positions and especially the cost of living in the DC and Virginia area.

As you may know, our VP of HR (who joined around the time you posted) rolled out a compensation banding policy earlier in early 2016 with support from some of the leading compensation consultants in the industry. We bench-marked against the top 3 established firms in the business (our VP HR is from one of these firms, as an aside). We've received kudos on compensation policy since then, and I am hoping that you share this view. If you get a chance, please update your view -- even if we have gone from bad to worse.
