Apparently the board heard your advice because shortly after you wrote this review, we announced our new CEO Dan Springer who is focused on innovation, customer success and people. His door not only seems to be wide open but he is walking the halls and asking questions and holding Town Halls and meetings with smaller groups of employees. He even attended at Women@DocuSign dinner and jumped right into a candid discussion about the company. We are pretty excited.

Great products, but management is aweful

Pros

Awesome product and definitely one of the market leaders for esign and document transaction management. Product integrates with many CRM and contract management solutions. Benefits are ok, but most positions paid below market average, especially in sales.

Cons

There are several, but need to mention that there is no leadership and no internal communication. You learn of news by accident. Employees and their work is only acknowledged if reporting into a certain organization. Many folks are very dedicated and put a lot of hours in, without ever being appreciated. The company works with unreliable data which makes sales reports useless.

Well of course I'm dying to know which group you work in because "learning news by accident" is certainly not the standard we want to meet. We have quarterly All Hands meetings, and Monthly Leadership meetings and we just launched our company intranet "The Hub". As for the management being awful, we got a new CEO since you wrote this review. We are all pretty excited. he has held oodles of Town Halls and is very comfortable with diving into spicy Q&A and bringing in an even stronger light of transparency. However, I see that you have left the company and wish you luck in your next gig. All the best.

Better for some than others

Pros

It's a friendly, comfortable atmosphere to work in, and it's great to work for the industry leader and a company you can respect. DocuSign is definitely going places. Benefits are very good.

Cons

Salary issues are ever-present. Be aware that employees who stay with the company a while fall behind market rates because DocuSign is very poor about giving raises. Rather than hearing another response such as "Thank you for sharing your thoughts," I'd like to hear a real commitment to change this and see results. This is a big contributor to turnover, as is hiring from the outside instead of promoting qualified, proven employees.

Thank you for your review. You raise some points which are great points to raise on "Need More Cowbell" our SFDC Chatter group. It's a private, company-only forum we created for employees to flag any issue they think merits a discussion. We value transparency and openness and would hope you feel comfortable raising the issue in that forum. However, you can always email the question to your HR Business Partner or me (Director of Employment Brand Marketing) who can post it on the Cowbell so that it can be addressed. It will be kept confidential. We are all option holders first and would like to address any or all issues that might impact productivity. It is in our interest to do so and Cowbell is one of our best forums in which to do that.
