Pros

Good work/life balance , which is why I gave 1 star

Cons

Where do I start... The pay is terrible. You can get paid a higher hourly wage if you work at a fast food restaurant or a retail store for entry level positions. They don't want their own employees to have better opportunities or grow within their company. They'll give you a "courtesy" interview if you try to move internally within the company, but getting hired is a completely different story. They don't see it as advantageous to hire within, and rather waste time/money on external candidates. I love how their buzz words for 2021 is "diversity, equality, and inclusion". First of all, many of the leadership roles are held by old, white men. Walk down the halls in the corporate office, and I'm sure you'll find a bunch of white men sitting in their offices. One question I would love to have answered is if you really believe in diversity, equality, and inclusion, why have ever single one of your Presidents and CEOs been old, white men since being founded in 1855?

Pros

A paycheck. Active in the community.

Cons

If you have other banking experience and something to compare it to, you don't want to work here. It's a huge step backward. Everything is on paper and sent to a back office. Outdated systems and processes. Not open to innovative ideas. Systems are constantly going down causing customers to get odd messages like their debit card is expired when it's not leaving them without access. Branches have limited access to most systems and back office phone lines go down rendering you useless in helping customers. Lastly, upper mgmt is inadequate in coaching, no balanced feedback or motivation. Focus on the negative and coach through fear. Smaller bank=alot of gossip. No confidentiality. Overall negative work environment with products and services that are hard to recommend when you wouldn't even want an account there.
