Pros

People, good place to get entry level experience, some senior level managers are very good to work for and with.

Cons

Pay, expensive benefits, NO work-life balance (work from home, 9-80 schedules etc), understaffed in key areas, "boys club"

Pros

The employees are a great group of people for the most part.

Cons

*A lot of cold calling and door to door sales. *They are unwilling to listen to any perspective unless you are middle aged, male, and white. *Programs that every other bank has stopped doing is the hill senior management wants to die on. *They can not staff the branches yet expect Branch Managers to leave the branch 1-3 hours a week and participate in community events. A lot of branches only run on 2 managers, which makes it impossible to make sure the branch is covered. *Senior management (who are mostly males) are hostile to women. You have an opinion and your negative or too emotional. *No career growth unless you can relocate to Pittsburgh. Or your middle aged males.

Pros

Great coworkers and excellent training. It's an entry level career job to learn the basics of banking and finance.

Cons

Dollar Bank is not the place it used to be, which is proven by the high turnover rate and severely understaffed branches. The low pay is not worth the stress of working with no staff, dealing with back-office employees that treat branch employees very poorly, and an overwhelming workload. Branch administration is not offering the support to struggling teams when they are running a branch with 2 or 3 people. They tell you to "keep doing what you're doing" in order to get promoted. Dollar has become quite sales-driven and is losing the small family feel that it once had. The technology is outdated and needs improvement.
