Pros

Tends to hire local talent in areas that need economic development.

Cons

There is a good old boy culture at this company that seems to start with senior leadership. Nearly every female manager, director or senior executive I worked with has since left the company.

Pros

Insurance is better than expected. Most of the pros of working here were the managers that have been let go or left on their own. Time off is decent.

Cons

They put people in charge of projects and departments that know nothing about the product they are in charge of. Have always taken way to long to bring new products to the market and then half the time they don't work as they should. Want you to let the customers know about the new products coming out and after you do they tell you they are not going forward with it. They don't pay well at all and raises are miniscule. 2% per year is ridiculous.

Great entry-level job for designers and young professionals to gain experience

Pros

Dominion is a great place for recent grads to get experience working in a production-oriented environment. The deadlines are fast, but not as stressful as other design jobs. For the most part, everyone in Marketing Services gets along. Also with the introduction of a few new products, it's possible for employees to switch jobs internally quite easily.

Cons

Depending on the department, and especially true for graphic design, there aren't enough opportunities for advancement in my opinion. Working on some of the newer products like PRIME, you definitely have that, but designers are mostly out of luck. In my experience, the promotions typically come from switching departments/products, or leaving the company entirely.
