Pros

Most of the time you are in control of your schedule as long as you meet the project deadlines. Some projects are hard dated, and team projects are at a set time so this is not always the case.

Cons

Low paying: The company pays a low hourly wage. They do not pay for printing costs but demand that all work orders, project instructions, and pogs be printed out. For each project. They do not pay for project input. If you had a full day of work, this can take about an hour of your own time, sometimes longer. Driveline is untruthful about paying for gas mileage and drive time. They say that you are paid mileage between stores and drive time between stores but the amount is very low and questionable. It is listed on my pay stubs but the amount per hour is not listed and it appears that they are paying 1 minute per mile. I calculated my actual drive time and what they paid me for and it came out to .75 cents per hour. Also they give you a set time to perform each project and will not pay for additional time on most projects when it usually does take additional time. If you do not do the project correctly or in its entirety, you will not get paid at all, so you have to finish up on your own time if you go over what is allowed. Unprofessional Management: Management is unprofessional and poor. My DM will call and email me demanding a response at all hours of the day and send emails all night long until I respond to him. I am only a part time employee and have another job and a life. According to him, Driveline comes first. He is very demanding, rude and condescending. He only cares about deadlines and not his employees' well being at all. He talks down to his employees like they are children. I went to the Regional Manager above him and told her these issues and the RM took the DM's side and told me I was wrong and being insubordinate. It's crazy actually. Workload: Some weeks you get 10 hours. Maybe less if you have less stores. Some weeks 15, 20 or 30. That is the norm. In March the resets are in full swing and all of the sudden you will get 50 hours. Now that is great if you don't have another job. Driveline ignores your availability. They lie to you and tell you that it is ok to have a second job (which is needed if you work for this company), but then they overload you and say that Driveline comes first or else. Bad Communication: It is always a threat with them. Do what they say or else. They change rules as needed in order for them to control you. And you must comply. You will be always in the wrong. And you will be told how wrong you are, even when it makes no sense.

Pros

Occasionally make your own hours. Not sitting in one place the entire day. Occasionally get extra pay for training newcomers. Sometimes feels rewarding if you like to organize things.

Cons

Terrible pay with no, or at the very least, barely noticeable raise(s) even for senior employees. Management is hit or miss with helpfulness, and seems to change every couple months. Often expected to pick up the slack of less productive employees while still trying to manage your own assigned stores. Job schedule can go from nonexistent to chaotically full from week to week. Set amount of pay for each job that does not consider things such as frustrating Dollar General fixtures, merchandiser experience, terrible apps, or number of workers on a project - you essentially have to share the money with anyone you work with. Bigger jobs = more pay, but some of then can be very stressful and repetitive, with the worst ones even taking 12 hours or more. Hit or miss whether the Dollar General management has their stuff together or not. Some are very professional and tidy, others not so much. Hit or miss whether a DG manager is hands-off, micromanaging, friendly, indifferent, condescending, or straight up hostile. Occasionally have to deal with rude customers or Dollar General employees.

Pros

You work from home and travel to different stores within your district based on necessity to train new hires and conduct reviews/audits.

Cons

Over worked without compensation. The company constantly adds requirements to job description without adjusting pay.
