Pros

Can be a fun atmosphere depending on many things such as residents, staff, leadership/management for your house.

Cons

Terrible pay. I've worked now 10 years at dungarvin and haven't made even 7$ more an hour than I was making at the start. Despite inflation. It's sad really. I may have to start looking for a new job.

Pros

Location. Easy to get on. Most of your local staff are pretty good people because they don't understand how corporate works.

Cons

Literally everything. I see this company folding soon. Such an outdated organization. The competition is really gaining on them too. Completely out of touch with the present times. They literally list 80% of the staff once the purchase was over. They obliterated our activities program, They ruined our effective recruiting strategies, and they drove away talented staff and leadership. Run as fast as you can from this company.

Dungarvin Response

We are sorry to hear about your experiences in working for Dungarvin. Our Talent Acquisition team in partnership with HR has worked very diligently to implement new technologies and standardize Dungarvins Recruitment efforts/policy and procedures across the country. Although, change can be difficult for some we do believe it is best practices and a more candidate forward process to hiring managers conducting in-person interviews so the candidate knows who they would be working for. As well as the removal of paper applications and having a 48hour turnaround time on applications. It does appear from the time of your review it you have missed out on a lot of our integrations such as a new ATS (mobile friendly) and LMS which started roll out in July 2017. In addition to new various training programs for non-DSP's.

Pros

*Great local management team who cares about staff and clients *Good health benefits through Kaiser *Client-centered/Person-centered supports. They really focus on trying to provide the best for the individuals served *Good training and opportunities for growth/advancement into higher positions. If you're a good worker and maintain a good level of professionalism, you'll have good opportunities for growth. *Wages are often higher than industry average *PTO, 401k, sick time off *Active participant in advocating for DSP wage increases from the state legislator

Cons

*Wage is low compared to other industries, but that's the norm in social services *Company tries to grow too fast and expand programs while being under staffed and in the middle of a "staffing crisis"
