A Sinking Ship

Pros

- Strong relations with co-workers - Casual work environment - Company tries to have fun - Mostly flexible schedule (depending on the job) - Work can be interesting if you get on the right team (Big Data, Mobile) - Team rooms (for some)

Cons

- No opportunity for advancement. They expect people to churn, and they don't care, so don't expect to get ahead - The company pretends to follow a "High Performance Work Place" methodology, but it is mostly lip service, especially in the Engineering organization. - This isn't Google or a Startup: it's a 10+ year old company carrying a lot of outdated baggage. Core business logic in Oracle stored procedures is the norm. - The Market Research industry is changing dramatically, and Research Now has been caught flat footed by the changes. There is lots of talk about catching up, but this is a company ripe for disruption. Look at what's happening at SurveyMonkey to understand the disruption. - At its core, this company is about spamming people with emails to try to get them to take surveys for a pittance of compensation. It is a low-integrity activity which is troublesome to invest your reputation in. - Lots of churn. The sales organization has been completely gutted and the CEO left at the end of last year.

Poor Quality Panel

Business Outlook

Pros

Hard working dedicated employees doing their best with very little support.

Cons

Poor quality panel and tools that are often under performing or not performing without any explanation. They leave the frontline employees client facing with out any answers to why the tools are not working. Clients are usually the ones alerting the frontline employees to issues. Management stalls and avoids talking to clients.

First, thank you for your years of service with Dynata! We realize how frustrating it can be to feel out of the loop and unsupported when it comes to our tools. We also know how important our tools are to our success – and to our employees’ success – so we make regularly improving and updating our tools a top priority to ensure employees can be as effective as possible per our Global Transformation Initiative, which has an executive sponsor & a dedicated team. Thank you for the feedback.

it's suffering.

Pros

only reason im giving this a 2 instead of a 1 is because at least the management lets you basically have whatever schedule and whatever time off you could possibly want. call in sick 1000 times, they don't care. reason is they don't care about YOU and don't need you. also at least they're being better about training now.... for dialers. Can't say the same about supervisors.

Cons

dead end job, doesn't matter how long you've been with the company, you're expendable and treated real badly. the only way you're getting anything significantly above minimum wage is if you have a degree no matter how good you are. good work goes unnoticed. there are certain supervisors here who, were they to call in sick, work that day would be simply impossible and it all depends on them. i have never seen them get a pat on the back for this, and they are miserable. i myself never received positive feedback in my entire time in the company, either. one of staff members at Dynata in phoenix screams in people's faces, scowls at people, provokes people, really enjoys giving disciplinary action way too much. over a hundred people, possibly even 300 over the years, have complained about their behavior and nothing has ever been done. nothing has been done because her and other high ranking staff hang out outside of work and give each other rides! we do contract work here, and if no one's buying then there's no work. basically entire months where every single shift is canceled. nothing can be done about that, it's not the manager's fault, it's just something to expect. if you bring it up to the staff on a bad day, you might get screamed at and cussed out, so watch out! (some people rumor that our particular Phoenix location gets less work than other locations because no one at corporate likes our staff. I don't know how true that is but given the demeanor of our staff, it makes sense.) teamwork and training among supervisors is literally impossible because they have them separated from each other by over 500 feet for no reason, so you have to jog a distance just to get within earshot of one another. lots of technical stuff to learn about being a Production supervisor that the leads will never have the proper time to train you on. entire staff, top to bottom, is in poverty, on drugs, and foul. no one respects anyone here. homeless employees exchange canned food amongst each other in the break room and steal stuff all the time. (no secure place to store your belongings, even as a supervisor.) as a supervisor, you are expected to meet your quotas while micromanaging these unsanitary, disagreeable drug addicts that have never used a computer in their life and can't even remember their own password. every single day. and regardless of how many write ups they receive or how rude they are to you, the managers WON'T let you terminate them and you have to continue suffering through their abuse, because they need X amount of hours and Y amount of surveys done and prioritize that over your safety and sanity. disregard the fact that these agents get 0 surveys completed in a week and just sit there scratching lottery tickets and their cocaine noses!
