Pros

Great colleagues but greedy executives

Cons

The CEO only cares about stock price which is great if you have stock options. Internal goals are set very high but below what was promised to Wall Street, which results in great earnings and pops in stock; however, since unrealistic “internal goals” were not met, bonuses are reduced and your 1.5% raise doesn’t even cover the cost of living increase. If you dont get stock options when you are hired, then this is what you will experience. It is ashame because it is good place to work and I would recommend to a friend, but just be prepared to be disappointed come review time.

Pros

Non-Traditional pharmacy setting. Great co-workers. Plenty of training. The programs they have to reach out to members are well-intentioned.

Cons

An unintended consequence to all the policies, restrictions and requirements is that managers who enforce them get stuck being police; instead of hearing suggestions that could improve patient care. Screen monitoring, time of calls, aftercall work, breaks, etc. are carefully and strictly watched. Interviews suggest the position was to complete MTMs. However, reading a script mindlessly and requirements to meet call volumes eliminate any meaningful impact.

Pros

I am having a hard time thinking of anything positive right now. Some of the cafeteria specials aren't too bad? All kidding aside, Anthem has the potential to be a great place to work, but the current culture brought on by the new CEO is puzzling at best. They seem to be going backwards into an antiquated and very strict corporate environment. It's just not a great place to be right now.

Cons

Locked in the position you are hired as, no career path for advancement. Anthem does very little to develop their talent, they would rather hire from the outside than promote from within. Opaque leadership, they often do not disseminate information to lower levels of staff, especially regarding layoffs. It's not uncommon for people and departments to "disappear" with no plan of replacement. Work from home polices are slowly being taking away. Tedious time time tracking and micromanagement stands in the way of any real productivity. The appearance of being busy, and documenting your time is far more important than the actual merit of your work. CEO has created a negative culture, every new rule and initiative feels like a punishment. Bonuses are being reduced for "reasons". Contracted and temp workers have replaced full time staff.
