Great business model but high turnover and lots of competition

Pros

Great sector. Parents always focus on their kids' education.

Cons

Management likes to micromanage. Also promises about compensation and growth opportunities aren't always met. There is a short window to ramp up otherwise senior management loses interest. Differing opinions weren't really allowed or supported.

Pros

-It's remote and flexible -Most of the employees are helpful and nice (but the ones who aren't make it terrible for everyone else) - The content is okay but could definitely be improved.

Cons

- The training is terrible (at least for substitutes), they expect you to learn everything about your job in a one day sitting. - They promise lots of work but over hire (was promised 5 to 7 hours a day but only work 4 if I can beat others to the job.) - The tech team and platform is awful. It's outsourced to India. It crashes in the middle of class constantly. The help desk guys usually just tell you to refresh or blame your computer/internet (eventhough every single other program works fine.) They also use Google sheets to allocate sub spots eventhough they could use an EARRS system that would be cheaper and cause less headaches. -Low pay

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. Here at Elevate we value our dedicated teachers and staff and are constantly working to improve our training and technical platforms. We do not expect you to learn everything about the substitute position and encourage you to contact your academic coach for additional training and resources.
