Pros

A lot of flexibility in schedule, cares about your physical and mental health, encourages work/life balance, great benefits, a lot of time off, paid holidays

Cons

Remote position with no training program in place. Left to navigate on your own and ensure your own success. Did not disclose up front that I was on a 4 year limited contract with Meta or that they have to get budget re-approved annually which could affect security of position. Ensured me I had job security multiple times when I asked. Did not disclose that they do not provide pay raises for the duration of contract - only way to get a pay raise is with a promotion to a higher level position, although, there isn’t much opportunity for advancement. Staffing agency struggled with the own financials so much so that our entire teams health insurance lapsed one month. Began facing layoffs Oct 2022, told we’d know by end of Nov if we were safe or not - didn’t let us know until end of Jan when new budget was approved/rolled out. Ensured us we didn’t have to worry again until Jan 2024. Found out in March facing layoffs again and they would communicate with us as they knew anything. Finally faced layoffs for our team in June 2023 - were told for months they would be transparent with us. Once Meta decided to terminate their existing contract with Elevate and cut 75% of our team, we were told we would have 10 days notice, insinuating we would have the security of an additional 10 days pay, plus PTO payout. One layoff day arrived, they cut immediate access and terminated all work, ceased salary immediately and without authorization and against our disapproved, applied our PTO to the additional 10 days we were under contract. Refused to pay our salary those days, despite the fact Meta paid them our salaries. In our termination letter, they wanted us to either agree to their stipulations with cut us short of a week and a half of pay and delayed our ability to apply for unemployment, or to resign to make us ineligible for all. They cut off contact and refused to discuss any further with us. This is because they literally do not have the funds to pay us our promised PTO or salary.. they have not abided by labor laws - did not pay out CA employees when required by law. They couldn’t pay their remaining staff their next paycheck who remained on payroll. Lastly, the disclosed in our termination zoom meeting that they knew for 1.5 months the ins and outs of what was to come with layoffs, despite telling us all along they knew nothing. They were slimy, unprofessional, rude, and lied through their teeth.

Pros

Fellow data breach reviewers made the job vaguely tolerable.

Cons

Upper management on day one expressed one set of scheduling and output expectations, followed by wholly different expectations and directions as the week progressed. We were told that we would still technically be employed by the company between projects, however, upon interviewing for a different role I was told that I was "not technically employed" with the company...all the while, I still received mailings regarding benefits as though I were. At any rate, the take away is that management did not value people in this role and were quick to be rid of them, as far as I could tell. Expectations and instructions were never totally clear and any deviation from the shifting goal posts would be treated as errors exclusively from the employee.
