difficult to advance and raises are not merit based unless a promotion is involved.

Prescott is small and there's nothing to do. Airport is so busy with Riddle traffic that you often can't fly in the traffic pattern with your students. This is problematic because there's no nearby airport. If you want to practice touch and goes with a student, you end up going 50 miles from KPRC. Pay is average. Riddle culture can be toxic, especially if you didn't receive all your ratings there. They prefer their own and treat them differently. 141 training is very beuraucratic.

Lengthy lead up process to start teaching. Applied in May, interviewed in August, will apparently not have work until January. Other faculty claimed "Super Adjunct" positions have been abolished, so there is no priority or seniority for adjuncts to be guaranteed a certain number of courses each term. There is no compensation for mandatory training, which takes several hours.

Although the website seems to flaunt the benefits, medical, dental, and vision have high deductibles that must be met before any co-pay "benefits" kick in. Embry-Riddle has some of the worst contracts with "benefits" providers in the industry for staff and faculty - several Blue Cross Blue Shield, Standard Dental, and VSP representatives say they "have seen much better." One visit to a doctor costs over $100.00. Approximately zero opportunities to "move up," as the only option to seek a "promotion," would be to apply to job openings announced to the public. These opportunities come up when someone quits, is terminated, or dies. Many management employees seem to lack basic people skills, let alone leadership ability. It's not what it used to be.

Even with all the HR training against racism and discrimination the university has yet to include at least one minority member on the Board of Trustees. It is sad to say that the group is composed of two white females and fifteen white males. They all talk about change and send emails about how inclusivity is important, but 99% of senior leadership is white. Change starts from the top, and this white dominant good all boys environment is not getting us anywhere. Many employees are leaving because of this. Others because of COVID and the lack of flexibility around working hours and/or working from home. Great talent has left and still they don't see that they need to start changing their ways.

Unsustainable growth of the student body seeking flight training. Constant hiring and shuffling of middle management due to turnover and growth. Not enough outlying airports to support the number of people flying. FOM policies that limit learning.
