Pros

Telecommuting and great people in every office except mine (which is why I telecommute).

Cons

Since the IPO, the company has a single-minded focus on revenue, which leads to cuts in support staff, expanding through acquisitions with no additional resources added to handle addition workload, and a higher turnover rate than before the IPO. Have been ordered to do unethical things. Across 20+ brands, the company only cares about 3 of them (if you work for one of them, then you are lucky).

Pros

Mostly remote work and somewhat flexible "unlimited" PTO if you're on a team who is able to benefit from that. This is probably an excellent place to work if you're a Vice President of something. Everyone else is treated horribly. If you are in the "underclass" this is a terrible place to work. Hierarchy is the only real cultural pillar here. The very few top sales people get to go to a resort. This gets talked about relentlessly at every meeting even if you're on a team that has nothing to do with sales.

Cons

Upper management is completely untrustworthy. You will be lied to constantly about future plans, business outlook, etc if you're deigned to be communicated with at all. There is a severe lack of any tangible mission here. The goal is to make money for shareholders who are dumb enough to invest in a company that isn't even entirely sure what it does. A "live events" company that is also a holding company that ALSO feels the need to micromanage all of their subsidiaries to death. If you want to wake up with a baseline feeling of existential dread every day, apply here. The few values that get espoused by the CEO either come directly from, or are in direct opposition to, whomever the current US president is at the time. Which is to say leadership doesn't actually hold any values outside of how to make money for shareholders and (perhaps even more accurately based on their performance in that regard) how to make money for the executive team.

Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback. Sorry to hear that your experience of working for Emerald has been less than positive. We generally have strong retention in our software teams. We're committed to meeting the needs of our business and our clients by evolving our software platforms to meet our goals. It's quite common, in an agile environment, to have to adjust our tech stack from time to time which might feel like there is a change in approach but it's the nature of what we do. Under our CEO, Hervé Sedky's, leadership, a renewed executive team is driving the business forward with integrity, agility, and a deep commitment to both our people and our goals.

Pros

Good health insurance and 401k matching

Cons

Terrible management and zero leadership. They don't invest in employees and cut corners wherever they can even at the expense of people's livelihoods
