Pros
As someone previously stated, “The Pros have all been laid off.” Not being there anymore. Not having to deal with the terrible management, lack of leadership or rampant idiocy and egos run amok. Having my life back. Won’t miss it. Nowhere to go but up after it.
Cons
This place is a crash course on how NOT to run a company or treat people. There is no structure, no best practices, no culture (unless their intent is a horrendi workplace culture) and no team building or appreciation. It’s truly not a place to build interpersonal relationships either. Everyone is so miserable that they just come and go. There’s no room or time to make human connections because people just want to get done and leave, no after work drinks, no hanging out outside of the company - it’s not a social place. It’s all complete and unrelenting chaos and disorder, everything is executed at the very last minute and with complete disregard, terrible management, mediocre leadership at all levels. Positions that are key and needed, that would exist at an actual company, do not exist at this place. Moda has an uncanny knack for getting rid of people with experience and know-how who could have really helped the company while keeping and hiring the absolute worst and least qualified people to run departments. People who very clearly have no experience leading a team and who are not out for their team but only for themselves by brown nosing their bosses at all costs while backstabbing their team members in the process. SYCOPHANTS. There are people who are so desperately holding on to their jobs - because they know there’s nothing for them beyond Moda - they will do anything and everything to hold on to their power and will throw anyone under the bus and discard them like yesterday’s trash. There is no loyalty or decency. A lot of fakery, general phoniness and hypocrisy though. They’re a 10 year old company who still refer to themselves as a “start-up,” because they never got off the ground and have been an utter and absolute failure of a business. The company has never made a profit, is massively in debt and hemorrhaging money. Departments are so stripped down, that they are basically trying to run it with a skeleton crew. If you value your mental health and sanity, your quality of life, if you love yourself, avoid this place like the plague. It’s all smoke and mirrors and literally everyone is trying to abandon this ever sinking ship. On the other hand, if you do chose to work here, you’ll probably get laid off eventually anyway, so feel free and indulge your masochistic tendencies. Working at Moda was like being in an abusive relationship, where they constantly promise you they’re going to change and that things would get better but inevitably they come back to beat you down, throw you under buses and backstab you. Job seekers beware!
