Pros

Nice offices, good benefits, good coworkers, collegial, friendly. This was an overall ok place to work. Pay was average, but there was employee stock and bonus plans, which increased overall comp.

Cons

Perpetual layoffs and cost cutting made moral really bad; Lots of engineers didn't do much (80/20 principle). Products routinely cancelled due to poor management and forecasting.

Pros

Talented people, excellent pay & benefits, good work/life balance.

Cons

I saw two instances of sexual harrassment by same lower level manager in Operations Dept. Both incidences were reported to HR dept, then reports were written against the manager, etc. But company failed to take serious action. Result was same manager continued to manage the same employees afterwards. The two employees were both disappointed (and uncomfortable) with Emulex for that policy decision.

limited future. too many products. seemingly no barriers to competition in the current markets. the overall industry is slow to adopt new technologies.
