      A good Fin Tech company in Chicago

      Pros

      I work in Software Development, and it is definitely in the top 20% of places to work in Chicago. They have resources to train their developers, and they have an explicit advancement track. They like Software solutions, and have a great deal of knowledge in how to do things right.

      Cons

      Their main money maker is a monolithic Rails app that is a PITA to modify. And since you are selling payday loans, the business domain is not the most socially acceptable. Mobile development is still in nascent stages.

      Perks, work/life balance, overall nice people, great location, comp was decent

      Cons

      Management is not great, too much work in the weeds and not enough time to concentrate on bigger picture items, too much focus on quantitative results, very lean, not a lot of opportunity to advance career, they use perks to hide true environment, high turnover, lost lots of coworkers to Avant Credit, managers are clueless sometime, very political
