Pros

If you make it past a year you get paid well. Generally get to work with smart people which is nice. The campus is cool.

Cons

Really rigid culture. Barely any work from home flexibility (5 days a year). Team leads are quick to pull computer usage if your performance starts to dip.

Watch out for the Kool-aid

Pros

Decent salary Interesting architecture Good food Good healthcare package

Cons

Mandatory monthly meetings that are basically just ways for leadership to feel good about themselves and try to get people to buy into the cult. Hire new grads but expect them to be experts, also work them to the bone so massive turnover Managers are just those that last a few years (I knew some who had been there less than 2 years) so many do not have the experience or skills to manage you correctly, and when you ask for help (both professional as well as personal) you can just be directed to a wiki link. Managers are viewed based on team members metrics, so they also do not care if you are going through a rough patch and need help, and instead tell you to just work harder. You WILL be thrown into the fire quickly, they tell clients you are experts when you have been at the company for just a few months. Did I mention the cultish behavior? They are hidden from the public view so people from across the country do not know of them, and their faults, but when you tell people around Madison that you work for them, they all feel sorry for you because they know the truth.

Upper management has no flexibility

Pros

The work can be really meaningful and have a direct impact on health care. You'll never have better coworkers. The pay is good and just keeps getting better.

Cons

There's a reason the pay keeps getting better: upper management is doing its very best not to address employee needs. They attempted to force us back in person, despite high performance, before vaccines were available. All concerns that lower management isn't empowered to address get politely ignored.
