Pros

None. Don’t work here. Ever.

Cons

Management is the worst, and I’ve been through some pretty terrible management before. Management defied public health order, bringing all employees back to campus. They even insisted they were “facilitating remote work” by having employees come to campus but work in their own office. That not what remote work means!!!!

Pros

Strong compensation and benefit package; merit heavily factored into raises, bonuses, and promotions; cool campus; great culinary/dining options

Cons

Transparency is selective; family benefits are mediocre at best; flexibility is disappointing; vacation and sick time maxes out after 2 years; COVID response has been beyond disappointing

Pros

Usually if you see problems the management is open to letting you change it. Ownership is big. I mentioned a significant amount of problems with Epic but that also means great opportunity for people willing to take the effort to force change.

Cons

Epic's efficient hiring process, campus, and salary may be alluring but it is a little bit of a trap. It is symptom of their high turnover rate which exists for a reason. They will grind you up and spit you out. Developers are expected to carry a significant burden and often only get to spend 5% of their time actually developing. The rest of the time is spent fighting with Epic's internal infrastructure that only exists because developers got fed up with the fact that the company did not find it important enough create. This problem persists because older developers at the company are used to it and new developers get so fed up they quit early.
