Pros

Having some difficulty coming up with a pro.

Cons

- Constantly asked to work extra hours to meet arbitrary deadlines while also continuously increasing/changing scope - Overbaring, micromanaging CEO - Consistently unorganized - Under-qualified people in management positions - Always pushed to turn out more and more work until burnout and then pushed out of the company

I appreciate that you took the time to give us feedback and don’t like to read that you didn’t have the best experience here during your employment. We also believe in being transparent that you did work here at an incredibly challenging period and we own that. When the pandemic hit, we quit hiring and froze backfilling roles to preserve jobs and not cut pay like many other smaller companies in Austin did. The downside of that is we definitely put too much pressure on employees. Since then we have seen our business boom and are now behind our goals to rapidly hire to meet the incredible demand for our Core Health and COVID testing products. All this is to say, that we know we have placed a lot of demands on our employees and as a result of our recent success are working tirelessly to add the people we need to meet our business goals, to add more experienced managers and leaders to help guide us more professionally along this path and to add the resources and support tools to help us do our jobs more effectively. We have lots of work to do, but with our amazing success we are experiencing we know we will get there. This is an exciting time to be here! - Stace

Pros

The company offers a much needed service, the CEO is one of the most intelligent visionaries that I've had the opportunity to work with, for the most part the people are kind and friendly. Unlimited PTO though it is nit picked.

Cons

The pay simply does not match the expectations. The turnover is very, very high. There is a pattern of leadership expecting lower level employees to produce at the same level that they are (i.e. being reachable after office hours, etc.) Expectations are constantly changing with little to no communication. Lots of pointless, repetitive meetings. Poor salary.

Thank you for your feedback! I'm glad to hear that you had a positive experience with the Company mission and our inspiring CEO, Julia. We are still an early stage startup and as such we have certain limitations in regards to salaries. While we may not be at the high end of the range, we do strive to ensure our team is paid market rate for their role. All team members are also granted stock options in addition to their base salary and we offer an impressive benefits package including 100% employer paid health insurance. One of our Company values is "Bias for Action". This means that when we see a problem or gap we want to take action immediately to stop it from getting bigger. For those employees that have not worked in a startup environment, the continuous improvement process can be jarring initially. We use our regular team meetings like EverlyFriday and Tuesday Toasts to communicate the why's behind any changes that are happening. We also offer many opportunities for feedback directly from employees such as weekly anonymous Q&A sessions, HR feedback sessions for new hires after their first 90 days and Office Hours with Julia.

No Work Life balance

Pros

For the most part, my coworkers are very friendly. The company has a great mission. The office is located in a unique downtown space.

Cons

There is no separation between work and personal life. Many people at the company seem to be okay with this. However, please be aware that you will be judged harshly and/or disciplined if plan on leaving work (at work) anytime before 6pm. If you like to obsessively check your email and Slack for non-emergencies, then this is the place for you.

Thank you for your feedback! We understand the challenges that a high growth environment can bring and our employees are very important to us. That's why we offer unlimited PTO and encourage our employees to go recharge when they need to.
