Pros

Great benefits including pension, 401K and tuition reimbursement.

Cons

Top leadership says one thing, but does another. Many claim that they buy in to Diversity & Inclusion and they can support this by forcing their employees to attend D&I courses, but they continue to promote and support the employees that they go out to lunch with on a regular basis. Often, people are promoted at the middle management level based on who they know with no tangible experience. The technology is completely outdated. And with poor leadership in place, it's hard for employees to not get bitter. They consistently see a lack of cohesiveness among upper management and prioritization, which leads to complacency. So much potential at this place, because there are some great people who work here, but the lack of support by management and the complete disregard of employees and their thoughts by HR is deplorable. They claim that there is accountability through the Performance Management review process, but it's all another buzz word that's not understood by the ones facilitating it.

We appreciate you sharing your comments regarding your experience. At FHLB Chicago, we encourage employees to have open dialogue and offer their input, whether it’s on a team call or a bank wide initiative. No one is ever punished or reprimanded for offering a different perspective. Feedback is what drives our work forward and leads to growth and new ideas. Our managers and leaders take great care to ensure their teams feel supported and heard. To help them grow in their roles, we offer manager-specific training and development sessions and resources. If employees are not feeling supported, we provide various, confidential avenues for them to share their experience. We offer multiple checkpoints throughout the year for performance management, ensuring we remain accountable always, not just during review periods. We agree we have great potential at the Bank, and it will take everyone’s efforts to keep moving forward.

Pros

paid school [maybe!!] - bonus - pension

Cons

more woke it gets more people leave [especially p.o.c] - if you thought coke was woke then get a load of FHLBC!! what I dont want... lectures on pride [i dont care about your sexuality], being told im a victim by white middle class executives and hailing george floyd a hero. what i do want... good pay, remote work, flexible hours, childcare help, promotion prospects, good leadership you get above assistant director level the leadership is totally out of touch. they dictate a bunch of intersectional garbage. team leaders and workers want to work!! not spent 50% of there time taking d&i courses. the place is losing a record amount of people of color. senior leadership must wake up now!! management dont seem to care as long as they win diversity awards. if p.o.c leave but most people who remain take the d&i training the bank thinks thats a win.
