Pros

Pay is good but not worth being bullied and berated by leadership

Cons

By far one of the most toxic and hostile work environments I have ever experienced in my entire career. During my time working for the real estate practice - I was bullied by their senior leadership and was consistently humiliated in front of colleagues. They rule through fear and I reported to HR who brushed it under the rug. Stay away as far to preserve your sanity.

Pros

FTI is a growing consulting firm and pays much better than the Big 4 firms on both base and bonus. You also have the ability to to get staffed on projects outside of your assigned service line when on the bench if you request it. Additionally, while the senior leadership is unprofessional, most of the staff and directors are very engaging and enjoyable people to be around.

Cons

FTI has a lot of work to do in terms of streamlining it's processes. Tools for time/expense entry are lacking and make admin tasks needlessly time consuming. Furthermore, promotions at FTI are very political and training is non-existent. Moving up often involves being a yes man and getting on the right projects with the right managers. This isn't like a Big 4 firm where simply delivering quality work on time consistently is enough for a promotion. FTI has vague criteria for what constitutes "exceptional" work and making director or beyond is moreso based on the clout of the people you do or don't have in your corner and what they say about you during promotion time.

Pros

People are highly paid but comes with a cost to your sanity.

Cons

The culture is pretty bad, when you're aiming to work together with teams and even managers, it seems that everyone has a non-diplomatic mindset and if you're working to resolve issues, there is a lot of finger pointing, blaming, and people taking things to the extreme. I realized this through multiple managers. The senior executives and C-suite executives are also very harsh to their direct reports, which in turn flows down to the regular managers and consultants. If you're not producing, you're going to get booted because that's the culture - Money over People. It was scary to even ask for time off to be with my family. Other team members got approved time off but when they took their PTO, the managers were confused as to why they weren't at work on the "approved" PTO days. Needless to say, I completed all of my projects and got out of there - a culture like that takes a toll on your mental health and your ability to be a team member. One thing I saw at least twice a week was that managers would come out of their offices and talk to someone on the team in a very loud voice, disrespectful tone, and the entire floor could hear and see what's going on. This not only happened on my team but on 2 other different teams on the floor I was on. I always felt bad for these people.
