Pros

The work is fun and generally focuses around costumes, toys, comics, superheroes and themed parties. I thoroughly enjoyed the job duties assigned to me and my role/job functions within the company. Many of the skills learned at BuyFun.com are beneficial to your portfolio, however, they treat you like an intern and pay you even less.

Cons

Morale is low, turn around rate is SUPER high. The owners care more about themselves than they do their employees. The raises/promotions are infrequent and insignificant. If you try to negotiate a higher rate of pay, it more than likely won't happen. If you do decide to quit, they could care less and will just replace you with another MNSU student, probably for even cheaper. This is not a company for serious marketing professionals, this is a position to get you by while you finish school and figure out what you want to do with your life. Do not expect to make a fair market rate for your skills, education or experience. The best you can do is treat it like an internship and move on as quickly as possible.

Pros

Interesting work in the Halloween industry Experience working with major, well-known licensors

Cons

The company is very profit-driven and doesn't value the people who actually help drive the profit. The benefits are expensive and don't cover a lot. The pay is below standard for many locations. When people leave, the roles and workload don't get re-evaluated, they just get redistributed to the people who are left. Open door policy is nonexistent, if you go over someone's head because you aren't being heard, you are punished and made to feel bad about doing so.

Pros

-If you want to make alot of money really fast, you can during season. you just have to put forth the time. -You have the ability to run a project the way you'd like, which is a great opportunity to learn. -Great benefits, good 5 year and 10 year anniversary gifts. -flexible schedule.

Cons

-Has turned really 'clickly' Management doesn't treat everyone on the same level of respect. They pick favorites. -Profit over people. -When an employee leaves, they just take that workload and add it to current workload without considering a replacement. -Claim to promote from within, although a new senior management position was created from someone outside the company, upsetting junior management from a missed opportunity to grow, no job was ever posted internally. -Decisions are made without alot of thought through, therefore leading to poor decisions from management or decisions on the fly. -Miscommunication, Miscommunication, miscommunication!! -CEO has no solid 5 year plan. -Base pay is WAY BELOW standard for the region. -Everyone has a plate that is too full, from the executive, director, manager, and Lead level. -Growing to fast, to quickly, without much of a plan in place. Not prepared for the future.
