Pros

Fearless is a government contractor, so there are always contracts occurring with the potential for lots of opportunities Good work life balance Competitive pay CEO is very involved and available

Cons

The main issue I have with the company is that they do not try to place or prioritize employees when a contract ends. The company tells that they have an alumni network and will give first priority to previous employees on the list that have been laid off due to contracts ending however, this does not happen. I interviewed with, and applied for other jobs within the company that are directly in align with my experience, however, always received an excuse that I was not selected for even further discussions. Then the recruiter just stopped responding to my emails for request requests for information about specific jobs. Dissatisfied with the companies claims that they try to be a people first company because apparently it is not. It’s a big risk to go to work for this company because if the company’s contract with an agency doesn’t get renewed or ends then you’re out of luck and can’t rely on them to help whatsoever, and a 2 week severance was just a slap in the face to workers.

Pros

* Fully remote * Good people culture (a remnant of a better time, more than anything) * Good healthcare coverage * Whoever is in charge of Fearless' branding needs a huge pay increase, it's the only reason this company even stands out at all

Cons

* Fledgling leadership. The leadership of this company seems more committed hiring outside consultants to pad out some people's bank account than keeping employees happy. They have no vision other than "more money, more contracts." Any professional engineering and design rigor is due to luck of quality hires. Total reorgs every 3-6 months. * Over the last 12-18 months, the majority of the 'glue' employees of this company have left. Every tenured employee who made Fearless what it is, is leaving, or looking to leave. * Compensation is lacking, raise and bonus structure is "performance based" a.k.a. we'll deny cost of living adjustments under the guise of anything. If you do well enough, or someone crucial leaves your project, they will offer a promotion, and lowball you so hard you decide to leave the company * "Performance Management" cycle is half a year long.

Pros

Benefits are still relatively good even though they have been cut back. Decent transparency from management.

Cons

Pay structure is pretty rigid. You can be top tier for your level but they base salary off YoE and (reasonably) contract rates. If there was upward mobility, that would make up for it but there are no Software Engineering Managers to advocate for promotions. Unless there is a need for a more senior position on your contract, that promotion isn't coming anyway. Slightly more subject to volatility in election cycles due to leaning super hard into diversity (morally a positive IMO).
