Pros

You are doing new things almost every day. If you like computers and designing this will scratch that itch but there are better jobs out there that do that if you can find them. If you can get in the right center with the right people then your work experience can be outstanding.

Cons

Hiring Freeze, direction changes every half year. The customers can get pretty bad sometimes. The team members are inundated with reports adn tracking procedures and paperwork gettting in the way of finishing jobs for the customers. Due to bad raises, diminishing perks and lackluster management and employees the wrong center can be a nightmare.

Pros

Great Benefits. Great stories for later in life. Employees generally are very loyal to one another, and will have your back when customers are accusing you of being incompetent. Usually, you weren't incompetent. While it is a corporate atmosphere being pressured to get the numbers right, coworkers have a tendency to "snap" in times of stress. Lots of bad moods and growling, but for the most part its pretty fun.

Cons

Very demanding customers, and generally disgruntled employees that are way past burn out . Store managers are usually aware of of employees and issues, but upper management is very corporate and unyielding to what is practical. Like I said earlier, employees become very disgruntled. Sometimes, people will just leave in the middle of a shift. This makes for a very rough shift, since it is usually the very busy times when people leave. Christmas is a nightmare. If you have the option, do not learn how to ship, or if you can, play dumb. The lines are out the door and people are very snippy.

Pros

It's a highly technical environment that allows you to learn a cool trade. Management is usually very flexible with time off requests. Pay is decent for a college student. Company feels strongly about promoting from within, whether it may be in store or at the corporate office. Co-workers are always fun and there is always a tenured member to help out with the dozens of complicated services we offer.

Cons

STRESS!!!!! Crappy shifts. Often, the store will be extremely understaffed to take on the type of customers we attract (typical customer interactions can last anywhere from 5-45 mins.) Customers get angry when they have to wait but most of them do not understand our process and services. People come to Kinko's with an idea and we have to turn that idea into a reality.....time after time. This is not the standard retail store. There are no "cashiers". Another problem with the company is that they try to do too much. From FedEx shipping to direct mail to signs and graphics, its just too much. Alot of times, team members have no clue as to how to do certain tasks because 1. they only come once in a blue moon and 2. the training on our services suck. It's really easy to get overwhelmed by the workload, especially when you're clueless AND understaffed.
