Pros

Great place to launch a career. Was promoted twice in less than a year Fun and unique company events Awesome collaborative culture All the coffee you can drink

Cons

Lots of growth means there are some chaotic days - but this is to be expected in the startup realm.

As a remote company, we don't have a janitor/cleaner as part of our team. It is possible you posted under the wrong organization. Either way, keep up the good work!

A good starting place, but not for professionals

Pros

1. There are cool in-office perks, like catered lunches, bagels, and a beer tap. 2. There is a ton of access to very smart people. The knowledge contained at Feedonomics is immense. 3. It's a good place to start a professional career in sales, management, operations, or development.

Cons

1. The cool in-office perks don't excuse the minimal benefits. - Virtually no 401k matching. - Limited time off. - Health insurance was nominal at best. $500 / month for basic coverage. (It's 2021, heath care should be covered). - minimal paid holidays - No equity or ability to generate ownership of the company. 2. The smart people are so overworked that learning opportunities are not abundant. This is no slight on the devs and product team - they jump in as much as they can, including overnight. But they don't have the resources to train the rest of the company on how the software actually works. 3. You will quickly find that the carrot-stick of "ample opportunity to grow" grows tiresome. If you aren't raising your hand, or even threatening to quit, you won't get noticed unless something goes wrong. And that's just the US based team. I sincerely feel for the teams working abroad. They have even less chance for advancement. 4. You will quickly find out that the "Principles" that are espoused at every all-hands and culture meeting are the first things to go if something is wrong. - "Keep a blue head" turns into "Who is taking the fall for this mistake?" - "Sweep the sheds" turns into "We'll just hire admin staff to handle basic things like scheduling" or semi-passive aggressive emails sent out to the entire company. - "No Egos" turns into "Well, they make us a lot of money, so it's ok that they aren't following process" or "I'm right because I'm your manager" - "Leave the jersey in a better place" turns into "make someone else document this, I'm too busy right now" 5. The nepotism is downright offensive sometimes. If you have any relation to the leadership, you can have a job at a much higher pay than starting analysts, and be shielded from the same repercussions that everyone else gets subjected to.

We hope you are finding success in your current role and find it unfortunate that you have a less than positive outlook on Feedonomics. I do have to say that the Company you are describing does not seem to be Feedonomics at all and it makes me wonder when or if you worked with us? You speak about in-office perks like in-office lunches, bagels and beer on tap. Admittedly we did have a very comfortable in-office environment, with a relaxation room and ping pong table as well, however, we have not been working in the office since March 2020, almost two years ago. Since then we have added 150 team members in the last two years. We were recently named as one of the Best 100 Work From Home companies by the Built In network. We have accomplished this by paying significant attention to team member engagement, professional development, mental health support and absolute flexibility in helping our people marshal through the challenges of the last few years. We do agree with you that we do have a ton of incredibly smart and emotionally intelligent people at Feedonomics. Our people, principles and technology are the foundational keys to our success. Feedonomics was founded by two brothers and two best friends and there is a strong family feel to the Company, up to and including me, our CEO, meeting with every single person that has joined the company. In keeping with that we treat all of our team members like family. We have promoted over 50 team members in 2021 alone. We have defined career paths established and are always looking to promote from within. Our People Empowerment team is not only dedicated to keeping our Legacy principles alive, but to making sure all of our departments are working in harmony. We have one on ones with our people team, group meetings where we emphasise our principles, leadership lunches with every team member where we ask for critical feedback. Most of our employees have some form of equity participation and our benefits include a large company share of health insurance premiums, as well as adoption assistance, funded paternity leave, to speak of a few. We are by no means perfect, but we are striving every day to be better. We are committed to empowering all of our team members to fulfill their goals, both personally and professionally. In our recent engagement survey conducted with all of our team members we had over 93% participation and our positive engagement scores exceeded an industry leading 94%. That being said, we are not always the best fit for everyone. We do wish you all the best in your current pursuits and please know that we take any feedback seriously and will constantly strive to perpetuate our special culture.
