Pros

I really wanted to think of possible pros but unfortunately the negatives are so strong, that I have nothing to write in this box.

Cons

There was a period of time that I think Fictiv was an excellent place to work. We were really supportive of one another and Dave has an inspirational energy that is very contagious (helped motivate us in the beginning). Unfortunately, as the company grew it became one of the worst places to work (although, I would say that most white men at the company wouldn't agree with that statement). Dave is not self-aware and does not take time to reflect as a leader. He has verbatim said in meetings that his sales people are disposable and he's okay with not retaining them (continuing to pay them at low rates, when most of the team isn't making quota). Although it's been getting better recently, the margins Fictiv makes on parts is minimal and sales people are told to basically do anything necessary to close a deal. The business is teetering on a ledge and is held together by the effort of under-paid employees, rather than strategic thought from the executive team. Micro-aggressions are rampant and common place at the office for women and people of color. Dave has routinely asked high-power women at the company to get lunch for him (never asked the men). There was a period of time that a Colin Kaepernick poster was on the wall (Dave compared standing up for systemic racism to how the company was trying to move forward). Those two concepts aren't comparable and it makes me sad to think that the pain of people of color for generations was reduced to that type of analogy. I wish it was possible to give this feedback at Fictiv but the executive team will gaslight employees that bring this type of feedback forward. I think they mean well but they're fearful/use old-school tactics of management. In particular, Jean Olivieri is not an ally for women [of the school of thought that one woman can make it forward only]. She uses fear & control to manage her team rather than kindness, respect, and connection. I'm writing this review for under-represented groups to get a sense of life at Fictiv and a lot of this will not become clear till you're at the company for a few years. I have hope that this review will spur conversations internally to also help the people there and cause change. I hope that in a few years that change will occur/this review will no longer be relevant.

Fictiv Response

Thank you for taking the time to write Fictiv a review on glassdoor. It is important for us to hear what we are doing well and what we need to improve on. We take every comment seriously to make internal changes to improve. At Fictiv, we strive to provide a culture based on open communication and transparency. We offer several different outlets for employees to provide feedback about the workplace, including software that allows employees to submit monthly feedback anonymously. I am disappointed that while employed with Fictiv, you did not feel comfortable voicing your concerns. Fictiv leadership takes ownership for ways that we have let you down. We can always improve and feedback like this drives us to do so. If you are open to it, I would like the opportunity to talk and investigate your feedback further. Please feel free to contact me at PeopleOps@fictiv.com. Regards, Director of People Operations

Pros

They do a reasonably fast turnaround for customers

Cons

I read the reviews of them "gaming Glassdoor reviews" and even confronting and getting rid of employees who left anonymous negative reviews. But look at the Google reviews...the first three (all five star reviews, BTW now mysteriously deleted after someone else publicly pointed them out on Google reviews)... are/were all Fictiv employees v... so these guys, and those leaving positive reviews on Glassdoor will be promoted and lauded... (I am sure they will delete those fake Google reviews the moment they read this, but you can check Google cache... )

Pros

The company is transforming the manufacturing industry and some of the people are nice and hard working.

Cons

If you want to join a company for a year or two then this might be a good option. If you are looking for a place to build your career then this probably isn't it. In spite of a hiring spree over the last two years, the company seems to have layoffs every 6-9 months. The cycle of over hiring and then firing seems to be the management style as they "experiment" with the business and then cut employees when the experiments fail. All the "happy talk" about people being valued is just talk, if you have another option then take it.
