Pros

The compliance department is excellent.

Cons

If you are in Digital or Marketing, they are doing "quiet layoffs" in 2023 and not hiring. They cut bonuses and raises, despite making billions. The environment was so negative and stressful that my doctor told me to find another job for my mental and physical well-being. Every little thing is an emergency at Fifth Third. The 6 month outlook is bad. They are terrified their customers will make a run on the bank and they will be forced to close. Racially, it's what you would expect for a conservative firm in Cincinnati. Racism is coded and entrenched. Execs (CMO, SVPs) refer to white women as "women" and to black women as "girls." I was told to join the African American ERG to make my supervisor look good for a promotion.

Pros

* Nice People * Remote Access

Cons

* *Underpaid and Overworked (I DO NOT WORK IN A BRANCH) - 5/3 rd = five jobs for every 3 people!!!! * Incompetent Executives who hire from other Banks thinking it will improve process and make them more competitive. But what they fail to realize is those they hired are not the cream of the crop but rather the trash. *Raises are small and there is NO room for growth

Pros

Easy to be 'successful' in the eyes of management, assuming you're willing to check your conscience at the door and can click buttons on a computer. Also such a large company, it's easy to get lost in the shuffle if you can stay off the radar.

Cons

Completely widget driven organization. There is a minute by minute focus from the top down on planning employee's entire days. The level of micro managing is something I didn't think could exist in today's work environment. Management's job is to put daily pressure on employees to sell products to customers, regardless of need. This creates a culture where employees do very wrong things in order to save their job. Sound like another big bank that has recently been in trouble?
