Taking care of our nation's military families (past, present, and future) is a cause that helps fulfill my destiny in life which is to love these individuals when I provide the necessary guidance and fiduciary advice to fulfill their hopes and dreams when making financial decisions. But most important, to be their light when tragedy strikes and things are not so bright. There is no better calling than to serve those who serve us.

Cons

It's a dynamic and changing industry. Integrating systems and processes is no easy task and making it scalable is challenging for all. You can change some areas and ignore or delay others, but that can lead to disconnect and frustration. Our culture, systems, processes, supervision, oversight, business partners, and products are all integrated and our transformation needs to evolve together in all areas. Transform in harmony, not as separate components/entities.

First Command is a company with incredible culture and an important mission coaching our nation's military families for lifelong financial security. This is the most fulfilling role that I've ever had by far and I've worked at other large investment management companies. Work hard and have a flexible schedule and unlimited income upside. This is the last stop in my career and I saved the best for last. Honored to work here and serve these clients.

Cons

Technology is still catching up. We are taking big strides this year so in a year or so this aspect should be much better.

Set my own Calendar (take vacation & family events when I want to) Work w clients who value me Stay Connected to the military (w/out being deployed) Compensated fairly (I earn it - I keep it) If not me, then who will take care of our clients? If you are a leader & want it, you can get promoted - the best applicant gets the nod. i.e. more women are in leadership over the past 10 years & I'm here for it!

Cons

Fully Commissioned (know that going in) It can feel like "swimming w an iron weight on your feet" but "just keep swimming" The licensing process can be daunting - how bad do you want this?
