Thank you for your long-standing service and for highlighting the flexibility and family-oriented culture you’ve experienced. We’re proud to support Advisors who create positive, mission-driven environments like the one you describe. While Administrative Assistants and support staff are vital to First Command offices, each Financial Advisor operates as an independent business owner and therefore makes individual decisions regarding benefits and advancement opportunities for their team members. This means offerings such as medical, dental, and vision can vary by location. We appreciate your feedback and your role in serving our military families.

Best company I've ever worked for

Pros

It's not often that you get to work for a company that supports their employees and treats them less like widgets and more like family, but that is what I found at First Command. I spent over 20 years working harder and harder for other financial service companies and was asked to do more and appreciated less each passing year. I've now been at First Command for over 10 years and wish I could have been here so much longer. The fact that we get to serve the military community, especially when they most need us, makes it even more rewarding. Great benefits and recognition programs. Strong ESOP with top notch balance sheet management. Loyal and deserving clients. Overall good pay. Communicative leadership. Investment in professional growth and in growing technology. Training is strong and getting better. Worthwhile mission. Potential to grow as a company/employee is ready to explode right now.

Cons

No company is perfect, but I promise that folks here care and strive to do the right thing by all.

Pros

Field Staff Employee: First Command is a great place to start if you are hoping to jump into a corporate role. I've been given plenty of opportunity to learn in a positive environment and I know that I am contributing to my team in a way that impacts both clients and the team in a positively.

Cons

Little growth for Field employees' who do not plan on being Financial Advisors. Very few ways to work up the ranks if you are not based at the Home Office.

Your feedback on growth opportunities for field employees not pursuing advisor roles is valuable. We’re actively working on ways to expand career pathways across all areas of the business.
