Pros

Stock options and some bonuses, the company culture in many areas is pretty good which is why I stayed so long. That being said my last department which I spent more years in than I care to admit, was the equivalent to serving me in a Taiwanese prison.

Cons

Ability to move around in the company is zero. You get in and your stuck without a way to promote, which management does not promote. If you are a good and reliable employee which I was they will found a way to keep you from moving around.

Pros

Lots of growth opportunity for lower to middle management positions. Company strives to do the best to create a great working culture. Used to be family oriented.

Cons

Missed the mark on understanding their work force. Opportunities for advancement are few, as management keeps bringing in their own friends from outside the company.

Pros

opportunity to assist the most underserved; Middle income families

Cons

First Command is turning into an insurance focused company, since majority of money they make comes from insurance policies, mainly Whole Life, and treat their advisors worse than just employees. Advisors have no authority in decision making even though they are called "independent". Worst financial practice. They used to be a much better company, but nowadays they do not care either about their advisors or their clients. The good ratings you see on here are either from their marketing department or advisors who are sitting on top and collecting paychecks from businesses that new advisors brought in and they did not survive with FC. They have all their advisors as independent so they can push liabilities away as much as they can and push it to the advisors.
