Pros

Five Guys is a good environment to work in, all the staff are friendly. There is a scheme to get your hourly wage increased by being certified on more stations, each station adding 20p onto your hourly wage which could allow you to earn up to £8.20. The breaks are paid and you also get fed if your shift is longer than 6 hours. It seems very easy to work your way up the ranks which is good for ambitious and motivated individuals.

Cons

The contract is 0 hours, so you never know how many hours you are going t get each week. Some aspects of the job are manually very hard work, for example working on fries requires fry baskets full of potato to be shaken repeatedly several times to cook them the way Five Guys cook fries. There are 3 different types of shifts 6am-4pm, 12noon-8pm and 4pm-2.30am, if you have the open or close shift, it is very hard to maintain a regular social calendar due to you having to wake up very early or getting to sleep very late.
