Engineering has taken a turn for the worst, with a massive offshoring initiative underway. The new CTO has decided to put employees loyal to him in senior positions, resulting in the complete elimination of any merit-based hiring. Engineers are overworked, many folks have left and taken invaluable domain knowledge with them, there are production incidents on a near daily basis, processes that used to work no longer do, security practices are being disregarded, and many new engineers with fluffed up titles are only being hired due to connections with management.

the engineering flow left a lot to be desired and the tech stack that they used is dated; enormous tech debt. just felt like a ticking time bomb, and not where i wanted to grow as an engineer. always running around fixing issues so we could never address them with thought or care. mass layoffs in my first week there was very unnerving.
