Pros

Huge growth. They take personal growth seriously when reasonable. For example, they have the "Focal Infinite Library" program which allows people to get any book they want for free as long as they present it to the company. This is so cool. I did this a few times. This and a few other things they do allow people to switch careers if they want to. We had someone at Focal who was in Field Ops and now they are a Mechanical Engineer here. There was another Field Ops person who know runs Supply Chain. Very cool that they take this serious.

Cons

Not much negative to say.

Pros

I have been looking for a company where I have the autonomy/support to get the job done, that is fast paced, where I am surrounded by people who are all devoted to the same cause. And this is it! The company is very tight knit which is a really good feeling. Very hard working. Very smart. All things that I wanted. So far this has been a great experience and I am excited to continue on.

Cons

Not much. If I were to say anything, I'd say that Focal likes to attract/retain very specific types of people, type As. So sometimes it is like drinking out of a fire hose and it is a constant feeling like, how do I do better today. I'd rather that though compared to previous jobs where everyone is trying to do the bare minimum and you feel like you are wasting your life. :)

Pros

Very young company. Lots of hardworking people who are really trying to live up to their mission.

Cons

Not a lot of personal time. Its one of those "We need this done yesterday" kind of places. Which is fun and exhilarating. But I had to leave for health reasons.
