      Food Lion one of the worst places to work.

      Pros

      It is a paycheck. Some of the people are good to work with. A few good store mangers. Hours are not bad in some departments.

      Cons

      New Cake program sucks. It is suppose to be easier and take less time,but it doesn't work that way.. . Never enough hours to do your job something always gets left undone

      Co-workers were great. Customers were, for the most part, enjoyable. Few problems at store level.

      Cons

      Low pay in comparison to the industry. Middle management is clueless—every DM or OIS has a different opinion despite documented standard practice. Too many chiefs, not enough Indians—top down organization where pleasing direct manager is the only real goal. Unrealistic expectations; unrealistic department payroll expectations (not enough hours). Company is constantly changing standard practice—doesn't allow for changes to trickle down to store level before again changing SP.

      -Easy to get hired -Training is decent

      Cons

      -Low pay, and VERY RARELY will you get a raise. After being there for over 4 years, I only receive one raise for 50 more cents. -Horrible management -Next to impossible for advancement, unless you've been there for decades -Feels like an "us vs them"..."them" being the big dogs -Very hard to get hours
