Pros
It all depends on who your leadership team is. They can make you or break you
Cons
After 15 years of dedication I lost my job due to a verbal disagreement. But that’s besides the point. The my company preaches about truth and candor, work life balance, diversity and inclusion. Unfortunately for any new comer it’s far from the truth. If you speak out you will be scolded and what they call “black list” where the chances of you getting promoted is slim to none. Diversity and inclusion. I was one of a very few(less than 3) specific minority yet never once in 15 years did they show any sort of appreciation eve though we had weeks of dedication to the culture I was ignored. The preach and praise over work life balance but there is no such thing. You work nearly every weekend and every holiday. Three times I had to work on thanksgiving day and not once was i appreciated for it. 15 years my birthday falls on Memorial Day weekend i was not once allowed to take vacation for that week. I was going to add that the pay was great but again it depends on your leadership team. Recent years I will explain. You are paid based of a salary with a quarterly bonus. Granted if have a reasonable plan number to hit them yes you can achieve that but depending on your leadership it can actually work against you. Let’s say you have a plan of 109 but you don’t get the product and instead your senior team decides to send you product that you don’t sell so not only did you just waste your space for the items that do sale. Now you have to fill it with the product you got sent out which also creates unsaleables which means it didn’t sell and it goes out of date and guess what. That number will affect your bonus. They also talk about you getting praised if your top sales but again there are so many tricks that being new you will get hosed. Case In point if I am about to hit my number on true sales meaning sold what I sold and I’m number one but another manager decided to load in a store last minute to exceed you well you lose that spot and your out of luck. In plain view the company looks great and to me it was at one point the best company but depending on your leadership team it can highly impact your future and that is not right at all. So if work life balance is a big deal I say step away. If you want diverts and inclusion I’d say it’s ok but still have a huge room for growth. If you want to be able to speak freely without retaliation then this isn’t company isn’t worth it. They want a yes mam cookie cutter robot manager and I wasn’t one of them never was and never will be.
