Pros

Promotional Money (commission), 20% discount (occasionally 30), and constant supplement and nutritional training.

Cons

Managers have to work around their employee hours, no Assistant Managers, little help with 6 am inventories, most vacations don't actually happen (even when approved), horrible turnover, extremely strict policies, no help with remerchandising or remodeling, having to push sales (Managers now get written up if they don't sell subscriptions and memberships), often working off the clock, no salaries/only hourly (unethical) and less pay (per hour) than competition.

Pros

20% discount on products and free samples

Cons

Brittany Sutton the Senior Manager in Smithfield store. does not care about anyone but her self. She wants you to lie cheat and steal from customers to hit numbers so she can get the bonus from your sales. She don't care if your kids die, just sell some pros and get some auto deliveries. She is heartless and loves to talk down to people. Evennif your off work she expects you to reply to calls and text, and even help customers off the clock to prevent overtime. They pay minimum wage but promise high commission payouts based on chance, if you manage a store that is in bad shape you all alone to fix it, they want you to be relentless and vicious selling $40 pro memberships even if it's a 95 year old person that only spends $50 a year. All the senior managers and regional managers worship money and if you dont get numbers and make them rich they will fire you. This company has more sales quotas than any wireless company I worked for. I quit because my turnover was ridiculous. They had me fire people after 60 days if they didn't sale above quota numbers.

Pros

Overall a good corporate culture. HR provides for the employees, salary is competitive, and the work environment is good. Especially for retail. It's also great if you are a supplement user and are interested in that field.

Cons

Aside from the Corporate HQ being in the worst part of downtown Pittsburgh, the biggest con of working for GNC corporate is their commitment to hiring non-innovative, non-strategic, corporate stereotype management over the past 3 years. In early 2016, GNC had the leadership team, minus a full-time CEO, needed to revolutionize the company. From the Amazon integration to rebranding of myGNC, attempts to attack the market we're being put in place. That all stopped with the hiring of the current CEO who seems content running GNC like RiteAid (which worked out well). Unfortunately, the organization has lost the dedicated people who could have made a difference and is stuck with the leftovers.
