      Pros

      Really care about employee growth and development. Managers spend a lot of time with their employees providing guidance and mentoring. Great values as to the role of the corporation in the larger world community. Senior Management is smart and competent.

      Cons

      Pay in retail generally is not that great. Limit as to how far can be promoted because of cut backs at Director and above level. Very young (like 20s and early 30s) employee population who can be arrogant that they know it all.

      Pros

      The Gap stores I have worked at consistently have management that is willing to work with you and your schedule (I am a student, so that is key for me). Other associates are friendly and typically, everyone gets along. Working for Gap has been a job that I have kept longer than others specifically because of the positive work environment and the fact that when they hire employees, they treat them well and employees stick around, which is not common in retail. I also know that benefits are offered to employees, which is pretty great, but I do not have the need to take part.

      Cons

      Management at my store has changed fairly often since I began working there, but they have now brought back a former manager who has done the best job, so it has all worked out in the end.

      You stay busy Reasonable pay for part time employees Recognition is given when a job is done well Organized daily goals A great way to work your way up in the fashion marketing business

      Cons

      It is hard to get days off around holiday when you are a good employee because they want to utilize your skills With the economy some days it is hard to make the sales goal of the day
