Pros

Lots of upward and lateral mobility if you make an effort. Captivating subject matter. Lots of smart people who are willing to help if asked the right questions. The right management allows for personal growth.

Cons

Lots of people seem to leave for new jobs after a short amount of time (1 or 2 years, sometimes months). Facets of the business are overly bureaucratic. Implementing improvements and change is difficult.

Pros

This review is honest so stop removing it. Resume builder and there is an athletic club. Good place to work if you like to just sit around and answer phone calls and questions.

Cons

Parking and raises are absolutely the worst. They don't even come close to engineering standards. Raises barely beat inflation. Promotions aren't encouraged. No real overtime available. Benefits are average. Starting pay is average. Attrition rate is unbelievably high so once a new engineer gets familiar with the company and the things they work on, they end up leaving for more money elsewhere.

Pros

They have good people doing the work.

Cons

- no safety culture - promote unqualified people for Upper Management positions that they have experience in. - Good ole' boy network - Unsafe conditions that will never get fixed since Navy is the only customer - employees are treated terribly and have no voice - Safety is tasking facility jobs and not professional. - you are tracked like a prisoner by the clock including salary. This is to make bids look more appealing to Navy by averaging out hours worked per boat. They will tell you that the Navy requires it but that is quite untrue for salary individuals. - The hours tracking generates in the "I can work more hours than you" culture for no reason. And the company expects salary to work long hours which are meaningless and in turn do not generate better productivity. - Old School, do as you are told no matter what your level. - I can go on and on Just a warning. If you are an educate and seasoned professional and/or manager, DO NOT WORK HERE!!! Run! Employees actually told me the first week they wish they knew my name before I started since they would have warned me not to come.
