Pros

- Good instructors - Training is useful - Some good potential clients

Cons

- One of the core ideas behind the Dev10 program is they guarantee placement with a client. If your client happens to downsize and cut contractors, which is a trend in tech, Genesis10 will also lay you off. - HR is chaotic and difficult to get a hold of - Expect to work more than 40 hours with no overtime - PTO is decent, other benefits are bad - They lie and threaten you with a contract that is legally unenforceable (wasn’t an issue in my case)

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We understand your disappointment in the situation, we are disappointed too. Dev10 has been impacted along with many other organizations as we navigate a downturn in the economy, having to release associates is the hardest decision we must make, we take seriously the commitment that was made to you and others that were impacted. We are sorry that you had difficulty reaching HR. We have shared your concerns with HR leadership. We wish you all the best.

Pros

I had some very good colleagues that I enjoyed working with.

Cons

My first insight into Genesis10 culture was a conversation with our HR person in which she said she’d heard that some people were intimidated by my communication style. I said I was surprised to hear this but if she gave me some examples then I would work on that. She said (paraphrasing) “Now that you mention it, it would have been a good idea to ask for examples, but I didn’t. So just try to do better.” It really floored me that she was so eager to punish someone that she couldn't take the time to ask for a single example. She wasn't deterred by the fact that she had no idea what she was talking about. The culture is that A has open doors to make allegations about colleague B (with B not present), the allegations will be taken at face value, A is afforded the moral high ground and B is put on notice. The truth of the allegations is of no importance. This is not just an HR thing, it extends to other managers as well. It's a grievance-based culture. If you do not work well in a culture where people are encouraged to talk about you behind your back, avoid Genesis10. The tech market is not good right now. Genesis10 and Dev10 are doing layoffs, including students and instructors. Recent headline on company website: "Genesis10 Earns Disability-Owned Business Enterprise Certification." The CEO says he's "neurodivergent" because as an adult, "a psychiatrist told me I have ADD." Apparently that "earns" you a disability prize. The CEO also issues public pronouncements on how Meta's management philosophy leads to layoffs without mentioning that his own company is doing layoffs. Thumbs down on all of that.
