      It used to be about us, now it's the bottom line

      Pros

      The ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Program) was nice, and had a lot of income potential if you can stick around long enough. The projects were interesting to work on, and you got to go to some fun destinations.

      Cons

      When the economy took a dive, so did a good chunk of the workforce. A whole year went by as we all huddled in our offices/cubicles wondering who would get the axe next. Those who were left behind were required to work harder and longer, or else lose their own job. I can appreciate the need to keep the corporation lean, but the way they treated their employees was, well, very corporate.

      Pros

      Everyone is nice and works as a team to get the job done. Management is flexible in balancing home/work life.

      Cons

      When working on any type of event, it can get crazy at times. Weeks leading up to the event are very stressful and you are expected to work 24/7 to get the job done and make the client happy. However, this is the nature of the business. Some employees put into leadership positions really do not know how to manage people and can make the work environment a little negative with their attitude. You are expected to bend over and do anything for the client, even if it may not be in the best interest for GPJ and might affect the bottom line.
