Pros

Great flexability on work schedule for salaried employees. Time off when need and bonus each year so benefits are great.

Cons

You must have an engineering degree to advance in this company. They value an engineering degree more than your experience.

Pros

There seems to be a great emphasis on treating people fair and always doing the right thing. As Georgia Power is a subsidiary of Southern Company, there are many opportunities in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida. The range of jobs is very wide. There are plant, utility, and corporate opportunities all under this one company. The pay is comparable to other utility industries.

Cons

The majority of this company on average has been employed about 25 years. With that I think there is still some old philosophies that are hard to get rid of. This may be more so at the remote sites.
