Pros

Had excellent benefits and was a great place to work. Local managers were experianced and very good at their jobs

Cons

Upper level management was clueless as to what was needed and lacked medicare knowledge. They refused to listen to or consult with people who knew medicare. Set goals that were based on incorrect or inaccurate data and tried to base performance on systems that did not work.

First, we want to thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I assure you, each review is discussed internally. Second, we wanted to address some of your points. Thank you for recognizing our health benefits. We do work hard to provide several options — all at very little cost to the employee. Our benefits program is quite competitive in the marketplace. GetInsured continues to be a growing business in a changing market. It’s an ongoing learning process. Since the new administration took office, there have been several failed health bills, and there are a lot of open questions as to what the future holds in regards to health insurance in this country. However, most of the team at GetInsured view this as a tremendous opportunity to be at the forefront of this evolving market and continue to help individuals, companies, states and insurers navigate the new waters. We do value what everyone has to say. You can rest assured that your views were taken into account as part of the decision-making process. We wish you all of the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

If you go to the Mountain View office, lunch is provided 2 times per week. However, it is also a great way to keep employees in the office, taking shorter lunches so they work more. Benefits are ok. Being a health insurance broker, they should have better options for their employees. Not a lot of micromanagement. In fact, sometimes you don't hear from your manager for weeks on end. Not always a good thing.

Cons

Everyone blames everyone on issues; no responsibility accepted Company priorities are different in each department so what is important to one might not be to another (who is the group that needs to make the change or fix) Horrific communication across the entire company Has had at least 4 layoffs in the last 4 years No bonuses Very little longevity because tenure employees are not treated well. They drive away good employees. The current state of the company is on a downward spiral. It's scary.

First, we want to thank you for sharing your thoughts. It’s always good to get feedback from current employees. You can be sure it will be circulated internally. Second, we wanted to address some of your concerns. We do provide lunch twice a week as a benefit to employees. You can certainly look at it as a way to keep employees in the office, but more positively, we look at it as a way to encourage cross-departmental interaction, while also saving employees some money each week on lunch. We actually provide several cost-saving programs for employees in addition to free lunch, like commuter and cell phone reimbursements. There are also a host of additional employee savings on gyms and outings available through the internal company site. If you’re not aware of these, please be sure to touch base with HR. As far as health benefits, several options are provided — all at very little cost to the employee. Our benefits program is quite competitive in the marketplace and we were pleased to be able to offer the same level of benefits for 2018 without any added cost to employees. For the most part, managers at GetInsured do not believe in micromanaging. Employees at the company are trusted to get their work done on time and with a certain level of quality. We think that says a lot about the capable people we hire — that they don’t need to be watched over. Turnover is natural in our industry — especially now. We are constantly thinking of new ways to respond to the market and innovating enrollment platforms — and we think that’s pretty exciting. Every other month, GetInsured holds its board meetings. Following each of these, there is an All Hands employee meeting in which our CEO talks to the entire company covering latest updates. If you haven’t attended these, we encourage you to do so. It’s a great chance to stay on top of the latest thinking from the highest level of the company. Recently, we have been working diligently to add additional communication points in between board meetings to keep everyone up-to-speed on what’s happening. We have an open door policy at GetInsured, so if you feel that you are not being communicated to enough from your manager, please feel free to speak with him/her.

Toxic

Pros

Free lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays

Cons

This is the most toxic enrivonment to work in. Communication and foresight is non-existant. Time and time again they make decisions without communicating to all parties that these decisions affect. The powers that be do not consult anyone outside of their management cirlce on business decisions, and when issues come up as a result of those decisions, they act like we, the worker bees, should have known this would happen, and fix it RIGHT NOW. Never mind the fact that we were never in on ANY of the decision making process and could have told them issues would arise well ahead of time. Or even better, on the rare occassion that we ARE asked about our opinion on a possible busines decision, we lay out the possible negative outcomes, they proceed with the decision anyway, and yet again, we have to scramble to resolve issues RIGHT NOW, issues we TOLD them would happen should they proceed with the decision. Fun times. They do not offer severence packages when workers are laid off, and expect them to continue to work for weeks knowing they are laid off.

We’re sorry you feel that your opinions were not heard during your time at GetInsured. We do value what everyone has to say. Sometimes in business, the potential reward outweighs the risk, so it’s worth moving forward even though some bumps, forewarned or otherwise, do come up in the road. That doesn’t mean that the team did not hear you; it means your views were taken into account as part of the decision-making process. We do wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
