Pros

Easy to get through interview

Cons

Everything. Their unique "model" that they talk about has a very dark side. They two side of the business- franchise and corporate. If you get hired out of college, you'll be working for corporate which means your commission is less than 1/2 what the franchises earn. They also set the franchises up wherever someone wants to pay for one which means that most markets are over saturated with franchises that you have to compete with and do twice as much work for the same money. It gets worse. They don't actually want any corporate Account Executives to remain at the company for long. 95%+ of people are gone within the first year. Management just wants you to sell to a few clients and then leave so that they don't have to pay you commission and can keep selling to the same clients year after year and keep the money for themselves. Very questionable ethics as well. If that hasn't scared you, you'll be turned off by the ineffective and unethical management, poor work environment and hostile culture. Management is horrible but it's really because they have an no incentive to care about your success.

Pros

I could write a book about my 14 months working at Goosehead. For your convenience, this will be short and sweet. I had no sales experience at all coming from the Marine Corps and straight to Goosehead after I finished my degree at Texas A&M. Management saw something in me that I had not yet seen in myself. I consider myself lucky to have found a company in the midst of growing nationally as well as providing all the support I have ever needed to be successful. A few key notes as to why Goosehead is the best company to work for in my humble opinion: - Competitive guaranteed salary while you grow your marketing and sales skills - Unwavering support and coaching (Servant Leadership by some of the best managers I've ever been around...including my time in the Marines) - Meritocracy (if you put in the time and effort, you will make more money than your friends do) - Vast opportunity for personal and professional growth (Within my first year I got selected to co found our first corporate sales office outside of Texas. It will be the first of many) - Young, energetic, and competitive atmosphere (Monthly incentives and company events always keep things interesting around the office)

Cons

If you are not a fan of working with great people for a company that cares about you individually while also providing unmatched opportunity for personal and professional growth, I wouldn't consider Goosehead. The one thing that I do need to disclose is that you will work here. I would say the average work week is around 50 hours/week. But, weekends are always optional.

Pros

Goosehead has been a wonderful career choice for me and my family. It has provided a strong and steadily increasing income for us each year. The culture here is second to none. Great people to work with each day that are driven by success. Team building events. Great comradery. Teamwork. Others build you up. Compensation is very good. This is a career and not a job, the compensation starts entry level and then consistently grows each year. You create your own large raise each year as you grow your book of business. The training and tools at your fingertips are wonderful. You get what you need to be successful on the job. It's not vague concepts that you have to translate into good practise, but specific roadmaps on what to do step by step to be successful. They have simplified the formula so you focus on the hard and smart working inputs only. I really couldn't imagine anywhere else where it would make sense to be in insurance. I love my job and enjoy what I do.

Cons

If you are looking for short work days this is not for you. Office hours are 8-6 and often times you will have things that need to be done after hours.
