There are much better low stress opportunities

Pros

The benefits package is pretty good and the 401k match was amazing until they decided to cap company contribution at $5k. Steady work at a company that should remain in business long term.

Cons

Roughly 15% of the employees (generous) have common sense, work ethic, and a clue. The remainder is clueless or simply people that want to show up and be paid with zero pride in their work nor care about learning/growth. It’s nearly impossible to get fired if you just show up and continue being willing to take low money compared to the market rate. Getting promotions/raises is like pulling teeth. If you don’t have a better offer and two weeks notice in certain departments will not even consider a promotion.

Pros

Benefits were okay at best.

Cons

The pay is atrocious for what they expect of you, if you’re not a favorite you’ll know it, and don’t expect to have much of a life outside of work. Unless you drink every single ounce of corporate Kool-Aid, and devote your life to Granite, you won’t get far…it’s practically a cult. Rob Hale is a Salesman at heart, and encourages sales reps to have egos the size of Mars. Sales gets to stomp all over other teams without consequence. Toxic workplace no matter the team.

Pros

Great experience if you are coming out of college.

Cons

The culture is extremely outdated and thrives on a fear based mentality. As a manager you are still treated like a child at granite Telecommunications. You are constantly having to prove your skills which is odd because you are most likely coming in with a great deal of experience at a Director level. You will manage a team that is promised a decent salary but in reality your closed deals will most likely not convert due to an underpaid support and PM staff. Quotes are mostly off and the client will quickly realize issues with what they are initially quoted. Favoritism is the real deal with this company as they pick and choose who will get the best leads on the RAM side and at the Director level. Lastly there is no training for Directors it is near impossible to thrive here unless you have sold the product as a RAM starting out.
