It's all about who you know!

Cons

Not everyone is treated equally. Special treatment for some. Overworked and underpaid teachers.

Thank you for your feedback. We know our students, parents and community make our academies incredibly unique and special. We know there is always room for improvement. We are open to constructive critiques and recommendations. We value the unique and individual contributions of our teachers and staff. Working in the Education field does indeed a lot of dedication, flexibility and teachers who can handle the multi-faceted / ever-changing needs of their students. Our compensation package has been an area that we have been working to improve. Great Hearts does provide excellent benefits (medical, dental, etc.), with employee premiums that are significantly below the national and regional averages. As of the 2024-2025 school year, we have increased the salaries of our current and new teachers. Thank you again for your feedback, We will take it into consideration as we work to improve our schools.

Pros

Teachers and low level staff are passionate about classical ed and their subject matter. They are all knowledgeable individuals

Cons

The nepotism is real. People get promoted based on who they know and what they want. Most administrative and leadership opportunities go to friends from other centers instead of hiring from within.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We strive to set a standard of excellence for our students with a focus on a rich liberal arts curriculum and emphasis on moral formation. We believe the best learning environments for our students include a small community of teachers, faculty, families and staff working together to give the students the very best. Several of our teachers have children who attend our schools which speaks to the value of a Great Hearts education and helps to build a sense of community. Working in the Education field does indeed requires a lot of dedication, flexibility and teachers who can handle the multi-faceted / ever-changing needs of their students. We will share your comments with our leadership on work life balance.
